Rock of Love Beach Volleyball Hockey

Oh jesus. Should I really admit that I had for the second time last night a dream about competing for Bret Michaels affection on Rock of Love??? My first dream about this was pretty great- you can read it here. But last night's dream was awful. Those who may have watched last night's episode of Rock of Love Tour Bus will likely notice the plot similarities.

I dreamed that I was staying in a beach house. I was trying to go to the beach but all my bathing suits were too big or too small. There was the peach one was baggy and provided zero support whatsoever. I was all floppy and the bathing suit was all floppy. And then there was a tan one that I couldn't even get over my boobs (no problem with the bottom half because like all the women in my immediate family, I have no ass). Then there was the leopard print one that fit me just right. Of course.

When I went outside I realized I was surrounded by all the women that are competing on Rock of Love Tour Bus. And what was worse, so was I. And there was a challenge- on the beach- which meant running around in my maybe-now-not-so-cute leopard print bikini. And what we had to do was use hockey sticks to hit a volleyball over a net and into a goal. And I stood there frozen cuz we each had to take individual turns and I knew there was no way in hell I could make the goal.

But then the tomboy girl competitor Beverly (who is from Georgia btw) whispered to me "pass the ball to me and I'll get it in the goal." So I did and she made the goal and we all jumped around because we were excited that we won a date with Bret! But with all the jumping my bathing suit top fell off and I had to hold it up to keep everyone from seeing my business as I ran back to the house.

Silver or White or Burning

It's not really a recurring dream, but I often dream about my hair. I don't know if its because my hair is currently having an identity crisis and changes color literally every time I wash it, or because my hair is important to me, or maybe because I could be anywhere from vain to losing self-esteem to organized to sexually curious. Check that link - it's funny. Anyhow, I probably dream about my hair once or twice a week.

Last night, I dreamed that I was blow drying my hair in my parents' bathroom and the hair dryer kept slowly dying. I'd hit the button that said "Extra Surge Power" or something, and there would be a little surge, but then it kept dying out. I looked in the mirror and noticed that the sides of my hair were a white/silvery color. In my head, my hair was "Ice." Ice didn't mean actual ice, though, it was just what my hair was, and the color it was. Once it was "Ice," then my hair turned into a cool light/pale blue and I remember not being able to tell if it was closer to "silver or white or burning." That's what I thought in the dream.

jockeys

I have a recurring dream in which I'm in high school and there either it's the first day or it's the last day and I haven't been to class all semester. Bored!

So alls I remember from my dream last night was that I got my class schedule on my first day of high school and I had all these ridiculous classes listed. Also, the last two periods were free periods, which meant I'd be done with school early. As I left school (early, I guess), I noticed two "jockeys" walking by me. That's what they were called in my head. "Jockeys." One was about 4'6" or so, and the other had to be about 3 feet tall. They both had pointy features, brown pointy beards, red jackets with goldish decorations and emblems, and hard riding hats.

Jockeys?

Family Ghosts

I have to preface this dream a little to make it make more sense. Last year my cousin Dick passed away from lung cancer, he was 44. He has a daughter Heather in her 20's who has a son who is about 1 1/2. Since my cousin passed away I have had a lot of really strange and cryptic dreams where he appears.

I had a dream that my whole immediate family was in a car. We pulled into the driveway of what appeared to be my Aunt house in Iowa, she came up to the car and said something to my mom in the passenger seat and then we all said goodbye. She said she missed us and there was an awkward silence where I thought she was saying something to me and I should have responded. We started to pull away from the house and I was upset we didn’t get to see everyone else in the family. Somehow I knew that the rest of my extended family was inside. I thought they might be upset that we didn’t go inside to see everyone. We started driving away and drove by/through a living room where a bunch of my extended family was hanging out. My cousin Heather was on the carpet with her baby. I jumped out of the car because I wanted to see them. My parents kept driving away and left. I went to the carpet with Heather and then my parents called from the car and said they were too far away to turn around and get me, even though they had just left. I was worried about how I was going to get back home to Wisconsin. I thought it was weird that they didn’t wait for me or just stay and see the family. Then everyone started getting ready for church because it happened to be Easter Sunday. This was strange to me because my family has never gone to church on Easter. People in my family started coming down the big winding staircase in the living room. They were all dressed up and would walk down the stairs and then out the front door and outside. I turned around and saw that my mom was there and all dressed up. She said they decided to stay. I turned back around to look at the staircase again. My cousin Dick came walking down the stairs fixing his tie. He looked about 20 years younger. He had fluffy hair, a big mustache and a 80's style suit on- powder blue with ruffles. He also had cowboy boots on with a big heel. I was surprised he was there and was about to start telling people he was there but stopped myself for some reason. I watched him as he walked down the stairs and I stared at his boots as he walked across the living room floor. As I was watching his boots click on the floor I realized that he wasn’t actually there, he was just a ghost. I was glad I didn’t start telling people he was there because I would have made them upset or they would have thought I was crazy. I walked to the window to look for him outside.

When I woke up I realized that the version of my cousin Dick I was seeing was from pictures I've seen of him from when he was younger. I think the outfit he was wearing in my dream is similar to his wedding tux from his first marriage, it was aqua with ruffles!

THE Shark Recurring Dream

I have had this dream at least once a year since I was a little kid. The event that sparked the first time was a trip to the Jaws exhibit at Universal Studios in California. Man that scared the hell out of me.

My sister and I are at the pool with our father. We are next to the diving pool which is square-shaped and very deep. There are two massive sharks in it that take up the length of the pool. There is a guy there dressed in what can be best described as carnie-clother - red and white striped hat and vest, white pants - and he is in charge of this rather flimsy looking lever. The lever has two directions: good and evil. When the lever is on good, the sharks are still, barely moving, almost like they are "off". When its on evil, te sharks become viscious, bloodthirsty.

Each time I have the dream it goes a little differently, but everytime what happens is:

1. Dad slips and falls in the pool
2. I run over to the lever. Its stuck on Evil.
3. I try to pull the lever back to Good but it breaks off in my hands.

Screams, then I wake up. I was afraid to swim in pools for a few years as a kid.
